I'm an avid motion control player. The best motion control games are still Red Steel 2 and Skyward Sword.
Being able to attack from 8 angles is so much more satisfying. I can plan my attacks. Fake out the AI. On RS2 I could seamless Switch between sword and gun and use special moves. On Skyward Sword I could block and then swing at any angle I choose.
Then come Skyrim. My dream was to play Skyrim with RS2 controls. Didn't happen. But I was cool.
Then comes this game the specifically made for the Switch and it looks bad. But I didn't mind because RS2 was necessarily a good game. It just had amazing gameplay. And one again they failed to create a gameplay experience similar to RS2 or Skyward Sword.
The Joy cons are supposed to be far superior to the Wiimote Motion plus and I still haven't done anything I wasn't already doing and mastered on the Wii.
I think it will take Nintendo to actively create a game that uses this just like Sword mini game on Wii Sports resorts was used to make RS2.
