Perhaps this is common knowledge, but I had this doubt since the recent announcement of Nintendo's Online Service and didn't find anything on this sub to clarify, so I sent my question to their Support and the answer came in today.

Their textual response:

"(...) Using Mario Kart 8 Deluxe as a specific example, if your user on your Nintendo Switch system is linked to a Nintendo Account that does have a membership, you and your friend will both be able to play online as long as your user is the one that's selected when you are first starting the game from the Nintendo Switch HOME Menu.(...)"
