I just happened into this community. Although I don’t shoot with this stupendous and user-friendly camera anymore, I had been collecting them just as the first DSLRs began to appear, just because they’re so magnificent. Film was fun. Now, I own many of them (I’ll bequeath them) and had their meters calibrated and shutter speeds tuned up by a great guy in Utah. This sub might give me reason to pull a few of them out of storage. Hooray to all of us who are celebrating the last truly mechanical camera Nikon made to excel at whatever the situation demanded. Nikon did that. It was THE camera in 1971. I was fortunate to buy one and take it all over Europe in my backpack. What a machine! I’m guessing you’d all agree.
