I have been shooting since 1994 when I was in the NAVY. My first body was the F3, which has been my only film camera. Through out the years I moved on to digital...starting with the D90 then to the D7000/D7100 and 2 years ago, the D500. Today I finally put on my Big Boy pants and nabbed a D4S. I was ready to go full frame...been ready really. I traded in all my gear (except my precious and rare 18mm f/2.8 AF-D) to offset the cost of a refurbished D4S. Now I am at a crossroad...seeing as I am starting from scratch (glass wise) which lens maker do I go with? Third party lens makers like TAMRON and SIGMA are putting out glass that are as good (in some cases better) as NIKKOR without you having to black market a kidney! OEM would be nice for sure but not at those prices. TAMRON or SIGMA?! Which lens maker should I choose to construct “The Trinity” out of?!
