Worth upgrading from 70-200 2.8 vrii to Z series?

I shoot a Z8 and Z6ii. Is it worth upgrading from the vrii to the 70-200 2.8z? I know the Z is heavier, but the vrii with the adapter is quite large and cumbersome. Wondering if it's worth selling the vrii and getting the native Z lens. I do sometimes feel like it has trouble finding focus with my z6ii. Haven't shot it on the Z8 yet.

Anyone done this recently who can provide some insight?

I shoot events and weddings, so lots of action and shooting in many environments all at once.
