Nightmare disorder
Post Body

Hi,

Since I was 17 years old (I'm 21 now), I've been having nightmares every night. Yes, every night I wake up covered in sweat, gasping for air, disturbed and panicked. I have had nightmares when I was younger but these nightmares are different. They are way more intense, it feels real and very exhausting.

Every nightmare has a common theme: escaping from it, from them, from there. I constantly have to run away and there is never an end to the chase.

Most nightmares feel like an action movie chase scene, very fast and life threatening. Sometimes I get killed and then wake up with a very disturbed feeling.

Funny thing is...my dad has them too, every night, same intensity.

We both have adhd, are highly sensitive and have ptsd.

It really is weird how we haven't fallen into a deep depression or worse, because these nights are very exhausting and not rejuvenating at all.

Anyways, if someone else has these persistent nightmares, you are not alone :).
