It started for me because of terrible tinnitus. With no sounds to provide scale, the ringing in my ears grew as loud as jet engines. So I’d sleep with the TV on. But loud commercials and gunshots, explosions, etc. kept waking me up. Plus, I’d lose hours to just trying to find something to put on that hit the sweet spot of good enough to stop looking, not interesting enough to get me engrossed and quiet enough not to wake me.
My go-to movie is Gosford Park. Anything with British people whispering works well. “Arrival” is becoming a favorite. “Ad Astra” also.
Anyone else do this? Got suggestions for flicks to fall asleep to?
