(I thoroughly enjoy the shitposting this sub is meant for. But I don't know a better place to carry out a serious yet rational discussion around this topic)
Bondhas, what's your opinion on the recent issue?
I've seen RGV's interview on TV9 and he didn't make a lot of sense when he questioned 'asalu producer ki consumer ki madhyalo muudo vaadu ravataanki avasaram.enti?'
Why should the actors charge a hefty remuneration and then burden waterfalls onto the audience eventually? If your point is that the actor is who drives audience to the theatres, I'd say the actor should them agree to a percentage of the revenue (if you really did drive audience, happily take home what you deserve) rather than demanding a fixed remuneration even before the production begins.
It's interesting to wonder how the whole cinema industry could be working backwards from a consumer pov.
Edits: oh shoot, I just noticed the cake next to my name. Happy Birthday to my reddit-self!! XD
looks like a mega discussion already happened on this topic a few days ago.
