Noob question: Nexus 7 (2013) unlocked and rooted, upgraded to 4.4, ¿did I lost root privileges?

The title pretty much sums my question: I got a Nexus 7 two weeks ago and for being able to use Stickmount I unlocked it and rooted it. This week I upgraded to Kitkat 4.4 and stickmount is not working. So I tried to run busybox free and it told me that it couldn't be granted root access.
All points towards the update removed my root access, is it true?
