Why is it so difficult to take a screenshot?

I have to try so many times to finally get a screenshot with this phone. What am I doing wrong?
Edit: I think it's the case I'm using. Thanks for all the help guys!
Edit 2: btw I know how to take screenshots, but thanks to those who had to remind me how to.
