Nexus 6P WiFi issue (possibly marshmallow)

I've had this issue with my N6P where when I briefly disconnect from WiFi at work or at home and get back within range, it won't connect and says "saved" instead. The only way I've been able to fix this is reboot the phone. Anyone else experiencing this? I've read somewhere that it could be marshmallow's doze feature that might be preventing the phone to connect back to WiFi
