"Sim Card Not Inserted"

Post Body

Today, while out on a job, my phone suddenly lost connection to the carrier. I looked down and noticed it was saying that my SIM card was missing. I've tried everything - complete image restore, reflash, tried my wife's SIM card in my N5, and tried mine in hers (it worked). Nothing seems to be working to repair my own device.

Google repaired my wife's phone late last year for free out of warranty after she dropped it, but they're saying "no" to my request to get a replacement after a hardware malfunction at no fault of my own.

They're telling me to contact LG about it, and that's my next step, but I know they're going to charge me $100 regardless of the issue considering

I plan on picking up the next Nexus iteration whenever it comes out if it's decent, so I don't want to get a new phone, but I also can't go four (or however many) months with no device since I use it for work and pretty much everything else.

I don't have any other phones that work on the Tmobile network, or I'd just downgrade to my last device.

What are my options? Has anyone else had and fixed this issue, or am I SOL?

Edit: Welp, no luck on any front. I did everything non-destructive that I could possibly do to my phone and the sim card still isn't working. Sent it to LG before the weekend and I'm waiting on a response. Hoping for the best, but prepared for the worst.

I really didn't want to pump more money into this phone when I'm just going to be upgrading to the 2015 version later this year.
