Having my period while on almost expired nexplanon

I was just curious if this meant the nexplanon is no longer working since I’m having my period again? This is the first time in years I’ve had cramps this bad or bleeding. It expires in October. Does this mean the nexplanon is no longer working effectively? There are so many questions I’ve had about this implant that I can’t find the answers to online anywhere else.
