Does nexplanon become less effective when approaching the expiration date?

I’ve had mine in for 2 years now, when I got it i was told it lasts for 3 years. I’m due to get it replaced on October 18th of this year. Does the percentage of how effective it is go down? Does it increase the chance of pregnancy? Links, articles, studies and personal stories are all welcome. Thank you!
