Ladies,
I am here to let you all know that my life was dramatically altered from my time on nexplanon. I got my implant around 2021 and within 6 months I slowly had fallen into one of the most profound mental health episodes of my entire life. This is coming from someone who was diagnosed bipolar, and has seen the depths of depression before. There is no comparing what I dealt with on nexplanon. I was anxious, suffering from memory loss and had lost my ability to think and be me. I felt like a shell of the person I was before taking it.
I am in pursuit of seeking a lawyer to help me sue the company or planned parenthood for never telling me about the real possibility of all these mental symptoms. Within two weeks of removing it I was back to normal and shocked at how quickly all of the anguish went away.
I love my nexplanon and I’m sorry you had that experience! That sounds so awful
@ ppl who might get scared reading this! pls remember that these things vary based on your chemistry / your body! Some people will have a bad time and that is valid!!! Others like me will love it! (-: don’t be too terrified based off of of internet reviews! I’m still very much the same me I was before!
Edit: the people who did my implant also discouraged me from getting it at first because of my own mental health issues, and had me try out the depo shot first! If you have pre-existing mental conditions (esp if you deal with mania) you should ask a lot more questions about how it’s going to affect your pre-existing mental illnesses. Definitely do your research!!!
