Does anyone else's Newf try to bury their toys in the couch and cry right after dinner?

My only theory is he wants to hide them because we've thrown out some when they're too torn up and he wants to protect his babies? He had one toy he would always set on its feet and was very careful with, like a girl with a doll. I've noticed a lot of his quirks are common among the breed so I thought I'd ask about this one
