Looking for a family, very long shot.

I own a civil war artifact that would be of great value to any descendants who may be alive. Iād like to put it in the hands of a confirmed family member. The soldier was with the Union army, the 8th Connecticut. He enlisted young and was a drummer. His name was Arthur W. Palmer, and he moved to Newark, NJ after the war, and founded the Palmer Varnish Manufacturing company.
