Yes, it sucks that we missed baseball today, especially with the team being hot. But here’s some good things:

• The more games that are cancelled now and made up later, the higher chance we have of having an even stronger rotation and bullpen than we’ve currently got (Carrasco, Thor, Lugo)
• Diaz, Castro, and Familia had all pitched in back-to-back days and likely would have been unavailable for this game, or if they had been available and used, would not have been able to go in Colorado. Now they’re back to being fresh
• 7-inning doubleheaders are probably very good for the Mets. I think we have strong SP and a med-strong back-end of the rotation, but MR looks like a huge mess. 7-inning games basically mean we get to skip the team’s biggest weakness
• The team gets to Colorado earlier, and doesn’t have to deal with any potential weather-related travel delays or other issues
• The Mets are still first in the division, and that doesn’t change

Yes down the line we’ll have to makeup more games and there’ll be other issues to deal with, player fatigue to manage, etc. But our bench is deep AF, and we’re getting significant upgrades to pitching in the next 8 weeks. Look on the bright side, Mets fans. This is not too bad a deal for us
