I've said it before (granted, not here), and I'll say it again, the Major Leagues are doing terrible things to Ike Davis. Right now he is having major issues that he obviously can't overcome in the pros, and the constant failure and the exposure to the NY press is only going to hurt him more. Even his defense - which in the past has been Gold Glove worthy stuff - is faltering.
There's nothing left for him on the pro team, and he needs to get sent down to AAA to sort it out. That's what the minor leagues are for, and it's bad management not to take advantage of their affiliates. Ike Davis needs to fix his swing and his state of mind.
Hell, look at Wright. After his head injury, the guy was messed up at the plate, and we all knew it. But after his injury, the one that happened on the same day as Ike's injury, he was able to go down to the minor leagues and work on his swing. Not only has he gotten back to his former self, he might even be improving, and his defense at third is tops in the league.
Why can't Ike Davis do the same?
