NYR had a big win last night; luckily you still only get 2 points, regardless of how much you win by. With their win, they took sole possession of the 8 seed. They now have 4 games left and still have their max possible of 58. We hold a 1 point advantage, so our magic number to stay as seeded remains at 8. There were no other games of consequence last night.

Because I may not get to post tomorrow, let me lay out the importance of today's game. If we win in regulation , the Jets will have a max possible of 54. We will have 53 points. Therefore, another win would most likely guarantee a playoff berth. If we win in OT or SO then we would need 3 subsequent points to close them out.

If the Jets win, then they will tie NYR for the last playoff spot again, although NYR will have a game in hand. We would then need 6 points (through wins and WIN losses) to clinch.

Therefore, today's game is a big one.
