I want to preface this by admitting I’m a Flames fan who’s only posting this for the following reason(S):

-it’s now year 2 of the post-Gaudreau/Tkachuk era and I’m at my most downbad as a Flames fan. Watching Huberdeau playing with no life while Tkachuk is living his best life as a panther just sickens me to my stomach. -I still believe [Flames’] management’s ineptitude for not giving them [Gaudreau Tkachuk] long term contracts is the reason for our collapse into mediocre hell.

I apologize if I seem like I’m projecting, but I remember that off-season when Tavares left the Islanders for Toronto, a part of me sympathizes for Islanders fans who felt their star player did them dirty. I also remember those deep Islander playoff runs in 2020 and 2021 and I honestly wished you guys would win the Stanley cup to make up for the Tavares loss.

Maybe I’m just pretending that we [Flames and Islanders fans] have something in common: feeling betrayed by former star players.

PS as a Flames fan, I would rate myself a 10 for resenting both Gaudreau and Tkachuk and that rating won’t change for as long as their contracts (6 years in Columbus for Gaudreau, 7 years for Tkachuk and sigh 8 years for Huberdeau)
