How to share my content on Reddit communities?

I have an educational and self development channel that would make sense to share in some of the Reddit communities.
However, I am aware that Reddit sometimes is not tolerant of anything that seems self promotional even if I feel it would add value.
In your opinion what are some of the best practices for success in Reddit?
