Should I use my band/music artist channel with 2k subs to create other similar but unrelated content?

Post Body

When it was just our music and live shows it was literally less than 100, but then I got bored and started up making podcasts and sharing clips. My other 2 bandmates participate and help me but they never really bother to come up with ideas or contribute anything really. Then we got a shoutout from another channel with a similar name as us and shot up to 900 subs overnight.

Given the new attention and audience, I started getting creative and making cool video edits and skits and vlogs. Over the course of time, with weekly uploads, I was able to make that number slowly go up to 2k.

The fact that my other bandmates don't really care for this stuff and don't really make anything themselves when it comes to ANYTHING other than the music itself and live shows is sort of troubling. I feel kind of limited in what I create and feel pressured to include them in everything even though I put in all the work. But even to try to get them to "come along for the ride" and actually getting them to help me with something is difficult.

I'm wondering if you guys think it's smart or inconsiderate to start my own series or show on the YouTube channel. It's not just for the already-existing audience, it's also because I am first and foremost a musician and the first thing I want people to see when they check out my content is my music. But it's also my bandmates' music as well and so they are also getting more attention.

tl;dr (conclusion)

Basically, I want to create my own show talking about politics, but we are not really a political band. We have a handful of songs that are nearly political or criticizing the government in some way. Either way, we all share the same ideas politically but they are way less interested in politics and government than I am. I also don't write all the music but I do write the majority of it and I sing lead for more than half. I just feel like I want to be able to express my ideas in a more spoken thought out way and share it with the world

I also want to consider my bandmate's feelings. They are less performative in front of a camera like I am but they are wonderful and beautiful musicians. I wouldn't consider myself the "frontman" by any means nor do I want to be. I want us all to be equal. They just legitimately care way less about this stuff than I do for some reason and it's hard to get them to do anything. edit: I'm sure they would be interested in something like gaming as well but that's a little farther off from music and also harder to pull off
