How can I get footage from a game I don't own/can't record?

I make a series about learning from games, and I would like to start adding more clips, screenshots, and music from the games I'm talking about. The problem is that some of these games are not games that I own, so I can't record myself playing them. It seems legally dubious to rip off someone else's footage for my purposes. So what can I do about this?

I see some bigger youtubers posting clips and screenshots from a games promotional material. Is that allowed? Can I do that and just credit the channel I sourced from?

Any tips would be fantastic!
