Do channels like "Dr Fact" have fake subscribers? How can you get 1.4 million subs in a month with barely any history?

Post Body
It's a genuine question.
There is this channel Dr Fact with 2.13 million subs. The channel got 1.4 million subs in one month (April 2024). With over 70% US traffic, and over $5000 revenue in one month. It was on the market for sale on Empire Flippers and was sold quickly. And the seller said he'll simply make another channel and he does this on repeat.
Is it that easy for shorts channels to get 1.4 million US subs, without any history & copy-paste content. Or is there more to it? Are these subs bought?
