Shotgun vs wireless mic ?

So my brother and I do a lot of big city traveling . And I’m looking to start recording with just my phone (15promax) what would sound better when we’re walking around the city , going in and outta places , talking to people etc . I’ve seen like the rode and dji wireless mics but won’t that limit the sound to whoever is wearing it ? What do y’all think ?
