My YouTube channel start with me posting both long form videos and Shorts at around the same time. The Shorts really popped off and I have 12K subscribers because some of the Shorts have 1M views.
However, NO ONE watches my long form content. My most viewed actual video only has 4K views. I've been trying to grow my channel.
I've been told my long videos are really well-made. I have a high quality mic, I upload at the exact dates and times where people are likely to watch, I insert every tag humanly possible, I animate things on the screen like the way MatPat does, I share my videos everywhere, and have extremely good thumbnails. Yet my videos get like 50-100 views.
My least viewed Short will get like 7K while my most viewed video will get 4K. But I absolutely hate Shorts. I hate making tiny short-form, low effort videos and want to make actual normal video essays and whatnot.
Has making Shorts permanently doomed my channel? Is Shorts just the future of YouTube? What do I do to move the Shorts audience to my long-form stuff?
Btw this is a throwaway account
