Adding a sense of humour/personality to scripted content.

Post Body

Hi everyone, I make both scripted and off-the-cuff content on local history and my motorcycle travels, often mingled together.

When I make off-the-cuff content, as in I write some ideas down in a hurry on a notebook on the side of the road then press record I get excellent feedback and views. Comments mention my sense of humour and my personality coming through.

When I do hard research and write a full-on script to follow as I like to be as informed about subjects as possible, I don't get anywhere as much views and I think it's because I follow the script too strictly and it becomes hard to inject my personality and sense of humour.

My problem with off the cuff stuff is that I end up being ill informed or have 2 hours of footage I have to cull to make watchable content.

How would you go about making a good half way point for these kinds of content?
