I have a cheap microphone and a single room apartment with terrible reverb, how do I make the most of this?

Post Body

Basically the title. I'm trying to make a video essay on a video game I like but it's essentially doomed from the start since I have a low quality microphone and a room with walls that make everything I say echo.

I guess for a little bit of context, I use a Razor Siren mini as my microphone, because it was all I could've afforded. I don't have any attachments like a plosives shield or something like that. All I can do is record with the mic sitting on my desk.

It infuriates my beyond explanation how everyone else, and all of my friends who are into YouTubing have ZERO problems with their microphones. Yet I can't figure out how to not make it sound like I live in a concrete box.

So that's basically my conundrum. I'm overly passionate for a project that is doomed to not be good because I have the bare minimum equipment and no other options. What do I do?

Edit: I forgot to mention that I use OBS oops sorry

For the reverb room, if you arenโ€™t doing a face cam, have you considered a blanket over your head sound treatment?
