We're a new channel working in a niche containing several related (but different) sub-niche's, and some content we upload will be of interest to some viewers, and not to others. We have a process video for one of our projects that's too long (40 min) to upload as a single video, especially since it's filmed in a semi-diary format over several weeks. We figure it will make between 5-10 discreet, approximately 5 minute videos that make sense as chunks, and we wanted to have it appear as a multi-part series contained in a playlist.
However since this video series only pertains to one of our sub-niches, and since it is a bit older than our current content, we would prefer to upload it at at once as a multi-part series in a playlist. We were just wondering if this will hurt our ratings, to upload an entire playlist containing Part 1 - Part 7 of a multipart series as a playlist, or is this ok(ish) to do?
We are very new and have only a few hundred subscribers. We want to get some of this backlogged content out, but also don't want to overwhelm our subscribers or lose some of them thinking that all we're putting out is this one particular subject matter, which we are afraid would happen if we released the videos over the course of say 1-3 weeks. If they keep getting notified of releases day after day that pertain to one sub-niche that maybe they're not interested in, we're worried we may lose some of them. If we release it all as one, and then later that week follow up with videos appealing to more of our core content, then we feel like that's less likely to happen.
Any feedback from the community is much appreciated!
