Karma is Important But I Struggle To Find Out How to Raise It?

I have tried to post in a couple of places. Both instances, the post was removed because I did not have enough karma. I've literally been on Reddit for a while... and while I try to comment and post new posts- I am guessing my topics are "viral" enough perhaps? Any tips on getting karma raised ?
