Hi all, I am finally doing research to get my license once covid is less terrifying (ideally). However, I have a bad back and shoulders from past injuries that didn't heal correctly so I'm wondering what is realistic.
I'm leaning toward cruisers since you sit more upright on them, and I really like the Honda Rebel (what is the difference between 500 & 300 though?). Sport, cafe, and cruiser bikes are what I'm drawn to for the asthetic, but again, I gotta worry about my health first. And it needs to be light weight.
Another problem is that I am 5'5 on a good day but my legs are short. I can't lift a lot of weight, but pushing/pulling isn't as strenuous for me for when the inevitable drop comes.
Bonus questions: *can you have seat backs on these small bikes, and if so, how weird does it look? *what gear can be bought second hand safely? (Helmet will be new) *can a 200lb rider have a 300lb passenger on these smaller bikes? Or does my husband need to face his fears and get his own? *storage on smaller bikes - normal? *women's clothes are thin, including jeans. Recommendations for short fat ladies?
Any help is greatly appreciated! I've been wanting a bike for years and if I survive covid hitting my house, I'm getting one asap.
