Are those solar generators worth getting for Hurricane outage? Also, any tips to deter generator theft?
Post Body

Hi,

Hurricane season is coming soon and my heart beat and anxiety is rising too much. I am thinking of getting like a big solar generator (my brother in law refuses to call them generator, says they are big power banks) but they are kinda expensive and deliver so little power. I was looking at Jackery, Ecoflow, Blueyetti, etc. Looking at atleast $1000 to run like fridge, and they hold like 1 kwh of electricity.

But pros is like not much noise, i am worried of generator theft. Noise will attract unwanted attention. Last year someone stole my neighbors generator at night. We had gone to Alabama. Also, getting fuel will become so hard to procure if you haven't stocked up before.

Any suggestions how to deter theft of generator? I know can't make it theft proof cause determined thief can break any locks you have, but still.

Thanks Have a nice day Stay safe!
