I’ve been researching public transportation from the airport to the French Quarter. The options look limited. There is the E-2 bus but it doesn’t run all the way to the French Quarter on weekends - it terminates at the corner of Tulane and Carrollton. And from there I would have to transfer to bus 39. Or I could walk half a mile to Canal and take the street car.
My question is, is area of Tulane and Carrollton safe? Does anybody have any experience with the E-2 bus and the 39? I won’t be arriving until 5pm and would be in the area around 6pm in September (there should be some light out). Sorry if I’m sounding overly cautious.
I know I could take Lyft but I’m super frugal.
