"A million people come and go through a person's ebb and flow and faces keep on changing."
Due to some of our mods having life changing events, we are going to have some changes within our mod community. Some people are leaving and we will be looking to replace them. We feel that our mod team number is accurate for a community of this size, but if enough qualified people are interested, we will accept them.
Who are we looking for?
Someone who can be impartial, make rational decisions and doesn't mind putting in like 20 hours a week for free ;-)
Why be a mod for r/NewOrleans?
There's a good group of people behind the scenes here and you will definitely make a few real life friends. The work honestly isn't bad, just a bit tedious at times.
Things we are looking for that would be great additions. (not necessary, but would be nice)
We would love to have a mod that is up late at night. Automod does a decent job late at night, but a human who is a night owl would help.
Anyone with coding experience is also a plus.
Someone who would be willing to take over / assist with event planning for the sub would take a huge weight off of my back.
A POC is always welcome, but is not required.
How do you apply?
Please use the "message the mods" button and send us a message with the title "mod application".
What happens next?
After we look over the mod messages, we will do some researching on your accounts to see if you're active and not a juice bag. The people who we find to be acceptable, we will ask you for an in-person meetup. We are a tight-knit group so we like to know the people on our team on more than an internet level.
I want to thank everyone in advance who applies and I hope to meet some of y'all soon!
