If you look at the forecast for various Midwest cities (take Chicago for instance) you’ll see continuous rain for the next week or so. Similar in other midwestern cities like Minneapolis or St. Louis.
That water will take a few weeks to flow down the Mississippi but it should get here before the wedge hits the Carrollton gauge.
The belle chasse and Algiers gauges are still at risk though, but the freshwater barges will be able to take care of them for the couple of weeks max needed.
