TL;DR: PLEASE REPORT MALICIOUS USERS
Hello!
I just want to address a recent post and a general issue the subreddit has. There are many scammers, bots, and sellers on the subreddit that dont always get removed. I personally remove them whenever I get a report from a user, and that's where you all come in.
I don't hang around this subreddit all the time. I have things I have to do outside of this, and the size of the subreddit doesn't necessitate a fulltime modding job from me (plus, I don't get paid doing this. It's quite the shame /j). But I do check report logs relatively often whenever I see one in the modding queue. So any time there is a report, I will look at it and I will make sure that it is taken care of appropriately (more often than not by removing the post entirely).
So please report everything that is wrong! It will get removed and it will lead to a better, cleaner subreddit for everyone with fewer problematic "users". Reporting is critical to what we do and every time you guys do that makes the subreddit better.
It's also important to remember just how many of these types of "users" exist. It's very difficult to quell all of them and even if I modded relatively often I would still miss many of these posts because they come in so often, especially as this subreddit continues to grow. That's why your reporting is just that much more important and helpful.
I would also like to take this opportunity to remind you of some of the general community rules of Reddit that apply to this subreddit and are worth reporting:
1. Selling content is not allowed on this sub.
- it is also worth mentioning that they often aren't actually selling content, but rather scamming you out of your money. A user asking for money on this subreddit should be taken as a scammer.
2. Spam accounts are not allowed on this subreddit.
- there are many signs of spamming accounts that may vary between accounts. Be wary of what you respond to and take the extra second to make sure you're talking to a legitimate account. It will save you a lot of time and effort.
3. Use R4R tags in your post.
- There are some accounts that post on here without using an R4R tag. These users either need to read the rules and correct their post or are not users we desire in this subreddit. The reason I am not enabling an auto-moderator for this is because differing formats are hard to account for and being strict on that formatting does not foster the kind of community I'm hoping for.
Thanks for reading all of this if you have. Remember that as important as we are to keep this subreddit clean, you as our users are equally as important.
