I’m toying with an idea that may come to fruition at some point in the far future. I’m contemplating the viability of a smallish regional airline (I know, lofty ambitions lol) that primarily serves some of the smaller towns we have inside the state through Albuquerque. Before you write me off as delusional, it could make some amount of sense; we don’t have a decent rail system between these towns unfortunately, and driving from/to a lot of these places (Tucumcari, Roswell, etc) can take 1-2 hours or more, but could be connected in a much easier fashion with a 45 minute flight in some cases. I’ve checked airports for a few smaller towns in-state, and there’s definitely regional airliners that can safely operate into and out of these places with a decent passenger capacity.
Mostly putting this out there to see how people feel about it, because I feel like if there’s enough support for this, I might actually be motivated to make something happen lol
