After the revolution a lot of skilled people (doctors, lawyer, military,…) escaped the country. But they had high salaries and investments. Also, they didn’t have private jets so the money they could take was very limited (assuming each suitcase is full of $100- max 2 400 000). The shahs flight was so public, if he did this someone would’ve have seen it.

However, I listen to accounts of how soleimani and akhoonds launder their money out of the country … and the whole thing is so amateuristic. Soleimani for example would put money, jewelry,… in boxes which usually are used for fruits and would fly it to Lebanon. And then through various channels to banks in Dubai and the west. It’s an unproductive and expensive way of laundering money because you have to go through 4-5 countries and set up shell companies.

Also, most akhoonds don’t have skills they can use outside iran and don’t know anything about being financially responsible. I saw akhoonds and aghazadehs skiing in Switzerland, shopping in harrods, gambling in Monaco.

They don’t care about investing. They don’t care about having valuable skills.

And the point about western decadence, alcohol, women. It’s quite rare to see someone passed out drunk in European or American parties. Hooking up with everyone is looked down upon.

Now go to shomal, bagh-parties or anywhere else the mullahs hang out and you’ll see sex parties, sighe-women, counterfeited alcohol, people puking from drinking too much,…
