S5E9 last conversation with Wilder
Post Body

So I come from a mixed hearing and deaf family. Believe me when I say that most TV shows depict deaf characters in an absolutely stupid way and it's just ridiculous. However this show has been amazing and impressed me with hee character. That last conversation where wilder is explaining to Max about why she is pushing him away felt so accurate. And the actor that plays Max is absolutely phenomenal in the way that he reacts to what she says. I have been on the other end of that so many times and that whole scene just felt so genuine. The show can be really cheesy sometimes but that was amazing .

Also I know I don't speak for all deaf people but I can at least speak for my circle of friends and family and we are all tired of Marlee Matlin. She's the token deaf person and I think we're just sick of seeing her in every single show and movie ever. There's more than one deaf actress .
