I was going to wait to post, but damn the Law works so fast. I had the proposed "future" success post formulated in my head earlier today.
If you've ever owned a hamster, you probably know that they aren't the most affectionate pets. They are territorial and nervous easy, and their bites hurt like hell. With a lot of persistence and patience, they can become sweet and cuddly. I worked with my hamster closely for 3 months in trying to tame him, and made good progress with him becoming friendly. But, I moved, and for some reason he became reclusive and always ran away from me. I was so heart broken. I tried for nearly 4 months to get him back to being friendly, without success, and was about to give up until today I remembered the Law.
What I did was begin to imagine him hanging out with me and being calm and friendly. Cuddling with me on the couch, stroking his soft fur. Him sitting next to my keyboard as I typed, eating his little snack calmly. I imagined picking him up and putting him back in his enclosure, being calm. Him sitting on my shoulder wherever I was in the house. I forgave him in my imagination, "Oh, you're being shy today! It's okay, I know you love me!" I didn't go into SATS to do this, just imagine while waking throughout the day.
Finally, when he woke up, I went to give him his treat as usual. Instead of taking it and running, he took it and climbed up onto my forearm, and chilled there until I let him back! He was never that calm, even before the personality change. When I let him back, he calmly walked off my hand. I repeated this three more times, without treats, and he still walked onto my arm, chilled there for a minute, let me give him a little kiss on his head, then went calmly back into his enclosure.
I spent 4 months trying to get this type of interaction. One day of imagining, and it finally happened. And not just once but several times.
Yeeee I'm so happy.
This might sound like a lame story but it is a success nonetheless!
Edit: He keeps doing it. Whenever I let him back down, he just climbs back up immediately unless I move out of the way right away. I love him so much <3 <3 <3
