First of off as a democrat Im am kind of let down by even my own party when it comes to deficit reduction talks. Its like either side really wants to make deep cuts that are required. I was talking with a friend and I had suggested something like 3 trillion in spending cuts and 1.6 trillion in raised taxes (I do think it should be 500,000 or a million instead of 200,000) over the next ten years. However, it looks as if the total amount of cuts and tax increases over the next ten years will be barely half of that. I do understand that cuts can't be implement too quickly along with tax hikes due to the fear of causing a recession. Therefore, I turn to you the people of Neutral Politics on how we should solve our long term deficit problem. At the current rate it is expected that will will add 10 trillion in new deficit over the next 10 years.
