Does smoking weed the day before matter at all?

I admit I have an addiction to marijuana and it's part of the reason I'm going for an appointment, aside from ADHD and depression.
Is anyone at all aware of this? The nurse told me not to smoke 3 days before, but it's already monday and I already smoked and I should probably stop now since my appointment is Wednesday morning but honestly I'm terrified and I don't want to stop. I don't feel like I can make the day without smoking weed or even get any proper sleep
