Conflicting Tenda Mesh and Router?

Post Body

Apologies in advance. I have no networking skills at all and Iā€™m as knowledgable as a three year old.

I was dealing with slow internet speeds on devices so upgraded to have a mesh system, and I have three ā€œnodesā€. Connection to the router and mesh was unstable and speeds kept dropping but helped a bit.

Upgraded to an Archer VR400 and still with a mesh system. The first node is connected to the router with an Ethernet cable.

I keep having to turn off WiFi on devices and switch networks between the mesh and router WiFi. Perhaps thereā€™s a conflict somewhere because the signal from the router is really weak through the house (small house) but I thought the router was okay.

Iā€™ve read about changing internet settings on the tenda app but I think without knowing I donā€™t want to completely mess with anything.

Any advice here?
