I didn't get to go to the Chicago area SC that restricted Order & Chaos due to the fact that it released the same week as the event so I'm not sure if O&C ended up illegal or not. Does anyone know what the final answer was on that? FFG themselves restricted an expansion that dropped close to Worlds.
I can see the argument for both sides. On the one hand, the pack is legal. On the other, allowing brand new expansions that may in some cases not even be available in the store hosting the tournament provides a pretty big advantage to people who play on unofficial web services or proxy with spoiled cards (and spoiling is against FFG policy). I can see FFG not wanting that situation.
Personally, I'm on the side of allowing Store Championships the freedom to restrict expansions that release very near to the Championship date. Especially since it's difficult to predict release dates very far ahead.
What do you guys think? Have any stores contacted FFG for permission/guidance?
