Dutch or Frisian version of Pettit/Pettis
Post Body
According to my DNA test, my direct paternal ancestors had been in Holland for thousands of years before they came here (not sure if via France or England or what). I have cousins with whom I share an ancestor that lived around 1710, and the surnames are Pettis, Pettit, Pettitt, and Pettus. What might the original name have been? I don't know how long we have been away from Holland, so it might just be from French Petit.
