Hi gamers of NL,

Some years ago I used to be a hardcore (online) gamer, mostly on a gaming PC. Eventually I lost interest during college, so I gave up on gaming for a pretty long time.

Yesterday I was at the Media Markt, just checking up on some stuff. I walked past the gaming area and noticed gaming is very much alive, lots of options nowadays with xbox, playstation, nintendo

Anyway, I sorta got interested again immediately. Ive been doing to odd mobile game the last couple of years but you can't really compare that to a console or pc.

So! Im thinking of buying a console, but I havent really kept up with the latest releases so im not sure what to buy. Ive obviously done some research online and watched some YouTube comparison vids but im still not really sure. So I figured, why not ask here!

Im sorta on a budget so my options:

1. xBox series s - its pretty cheap new, and looks like my best option. But is cheap also good?
2. Playstation 4 - Still a good option? Its still available new, but I heard its gonna be obsolete in a few years?
3. xBox series X second hand or thru used products - New its a bit on the expensive side for me
4. Nintendo switch - Maybe mirror this to my tv? Hows the quality, or is this comparable with a tablet?
5. PC - buy components and assemble a gaming pc myself. Im reluctant because of not being able to use a controller?

Maybe someone can help me out? Share your experiences! Thanks a lot!
