Eric and his Dad have some of my favorite Black Fatherhood moments
Post Body

Man I was scared that Eric's storyline would be some basic ass "Gay black teen from a conservative black household who hides who he is and is shunned by them and at school" type shit

Then it really seemed like that...until Eric's dad got more involved. Until we got to see that Eric's dad cares so much about Eric, he cares so much for his son and just wants him to feel safe and secure despite being scared for him because of his extravagant nature, because he is gay, because of so many factors yet he sees his son be brave and strong and takes it with him.

It's honestly great to see, like seeing good black fatherhood in media makes me so happy and Eric and his dad succeeded for me. Their relationship made Eric's storyline work well for me. Eric's character as a whole was great, there were many points I'd thought I knew where it was going with him(and one that was definitely there from jump) but they sometimes swerved my ass.
