4th Gen Nest Heat Pump Wiring Question

Post Body

My home came with a very old thermostat which ran the AC and heat pump. I just installed a nest, but I'm a little confused as to the wiring. The previous thermostat had the following wiring:

  • R = Red wire
  • C = Blue wire
  • Y1 = Yellow wire
  • Y2 = Black wire
  • G = Green wire
  • W/OB = Orange wire
  • W2/AUX E = Brown and White wires on same terminal

The problem I am having is that I cannot find a diagram for both a white and brown wire. I have the nest wired up and it appears to be working, but I don't know if if the wiring is correct. Can anyone confirm that this is correct? I'm mainly concerned about the white and brown wires as the nest does not allow me to put both on the same terminal.

  • Rh = Red wire
  • C = Blue wire
  • Y1 = Yellow wire
  • Y2 = Black wire
  • G = Green wire
  • OB = Orange wire
  • W2 AUX = White wire
  • * = Brown wire

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
