Nest turning boiler on when not scheduled
Post Body

Hi,

Issue summarised as below.

I have an oil boiler which heats 2 circuits, radiators and hot water store.

I leave my Nest thermostat at the min temperature of 9degC and wind it up to room temp when I want my radiators on, manually, wind it down to 9 when I want the heating off. Same for water, I’ll boost the water manually when I want hot water.

I’ve recently set up schedules then for each of the circuits, an on and off time for each throughout day.

My issue is when I have the schedules enabled my oil boiler will randomly fire for very short intervals throughout the day, outside of the schedule times. I’ve worked this out over several weeks of toggling the schedules on or off (very time consuming this was). The oil boiler firing outside of the scheduled time is not the legionnaire thing, I have it turned off also. Seen plenty of posts on the net about that.

Anyone any thoughts on what my issue is??

Tia

Best of luck. Hopefully it's something simple.

Not for sure after those three things.

I wish I were better with radiators, but I don't see them often.

Make sure that true. Radiant is off. This is essentially the early on function for radiators.

Double check your safety temps are lower than your setting. I believe it should be around 5c/40f

Required just because of past experiences: if your house goes below what you have it set to (9c) the heat will kick on.
